The one rule that matters: the signs on the street always override this app. CurbParker is an aid for understanding parking regulations, not a substitute for them. You alone are responsible for where you park.

1. Acceptance

By installing or using CurbParker (the “app”), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. What the app is

CurbParker displays street-parking regulations, paid-parking rates and parking lots in the cities it supports, based on their open data and OpenStreetMap, and can suggest nearby spots and guide you to them. All of this is informational guidance only.

3. No guarantee of accuracy

We cannot guarantee that the information shown is accurate, complete or up to date. City data may contain errors or lag behind reality; signs change; temporary restrictions (construction, snow removal, street cleaning, special events, moving permits, holiday suspensions) may not appear at all; GPS positioning is approximate; and the app’s reading of a sign’s text may be imperfect.

4. Your responsibility

You must park in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and posted signage, and drive safely. Always read the actual signs before leaving your vehicle, and do not use the app while driving.

5. No liability for fines or damages

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app, including parking tickets and fines, towing and impound fees, vehicle damage, missed appointments, or any indirect or consequential loss.

6. “As is”

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the app at any time.

7. Free trial and subscription

Some features require a paid subscription after a free trial. Billing, renewal and cancellation are handled by Google Play under Google’s terms; you can cancel at any time in your Play subscriptions, effective at the end of the current billing period. Prices may change for future periods with notice through Google Play. The trial is one per device; circumventing it is prohibited.

8. Acceptable use

You may not resell, scrape, bulk-extract or redistribute the app or its data, present the app’s output as official city information, or attempt to disrupt its services. Reverse engineering is permitted only where the law says we cannot forbid it.

9. Data sources and attribution

Parking data: Ville de Montréal open data (CC BY 4.0) and Agence de mobilité durable; NYC Open Data (NYC DOT, ParkNYC, NYC DEP). Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL); base map by Google Maps; routing by OSRM / FOSSGIS; search by Photon (komoot) and Nominatim. Those datasets remain under their own licences.

10. Privacy

See the privacy policy. In short: no accounts, no ads, no tracking.

11. Changes

We may update these terms; the date above will change and material changes will be noted in the app or store listing. Continued use means you accept the new terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Québec and the applicable laws of Canada. Any dispute belongs to the courts of the district of Montréal, Québec. Nothing here limits consumer rights that the law does not allow to be limited.
